We are looking for new Trustees for our Board of Directors

Skylarks Charity is seeking voluntary trustees to join our Board of Directors.

Skylarks provides a supportive and active community. We care for the whole family, providing opportunities to join in, develop and feel empowered. We want to remove the isolation that can be felt by families and their children who have a disability or additional needs. We are based in Richmond upon Thames but have an open-door policy. Anyone, from anywhere, is welcome! 

 

Skylarks Charity aims to provide a supportive and active community, caring for the whole family and removing the isolation often experienced by families with children who have disabilities or additional needs. We offer a range of inclusive services and therapies to over 4500 registered families, and we continue to grow to meet the evolving needs of our community.

WE ARE SEEKING TRUSTEES WITH A VARIETY OF SKILLS:

As a trustee, you will play a crucial role in guiding Skylarks Charity towards achieving its strategic objectives. Your expertise and insight will contribute to our organisation's governance, development, and sustainability. We welcome individuals with lived experience of having children with additional needs or with disabilities themselves to apply, as your unique perspective will enrich our board discussions and decision-making processes.

Board meetings occur approximately five times a year and are conducted through both online and in-person formats. Trustees are assigned to participate in at least one committee, ensuring pertinent discussions on matters concerning the operations and governance of the charity. Additionally, committee meetings are convened between board meetings as necessary.

 

As a Treasurer Trustee, you will be responsible for maintaining robust financial processes, procedures, and practices to ensure Skylarks Charity's financial viability. Collaborating with fellow Trustees, you will ensure compliance with legislative requirements, providing financial expertise to the Board and ensuring Skylarks delivers its financial duties and responsibilities.
