Motability Lifestyle Magazine cover Skylarks stars Noah and Sakina
November 1, 2024
Proudly representing Skylarks Charity, Noah and Sakina are featured on the cover of November's Motability Lifestyle Magazine. This edition, which includes insights and contributions from Skylarks, highlights a vital message: the importance of representation in toys.
When children with disabilities find toys that reflect them and their experiences, it increases confidence and promotes acceptance from an early age.
While progress has been made, there is still much to do. Manufacturers must engage children and educators as co-creators to ensure toys reflect diverse abilities, family structures and cultural backgrounds.
As our managing director, Aaron Guiver, explains, “Representation is crucial for children with disabilities. Collaborating with those who have lived experiences helps create toys and stories that resonate.”
“Inclusivity should extend beyond toys to schools, nurseries and community spaces.
“Thank you to Noah, Sakina and their families for their incredible contributions to this edition of the magazine.”
