We are delighted to welcome Tom Silver as our Guest speaker to our November Online session.

Girls Connect support group - for parent/carers of girls with autism spectrum conditions or on the social communication pathway or who may be on the spectrum.

Action Attainment
We are a social enterprise for neurodiverse children and young people, and everyone who works alongside them. We work with families, schools and sports organisations to provide practical inclusion strategies that can be used in all areas of life.

Our services are safe spaces for people to show up, be themselves and have fun, while learning communication skills for life.
From Saturday morning football groups, to parent workshops and school INSET, our sessions and training have been developed by people with lived experience and neurodiversity experts.
We support diagnosed and undiagnosed young people, including those who have autism, ADHD, dyspraxia, dyslexia, social communication or sensory processing differences.

Tom Silver – Action-attainment Project Coordinator
I believe that small, understanding groups make all the difference to start of some children’s sporting journey. I know this from personal experiences of starting out in sport as a child with coaches who were similar to those at On the Ball.
These coaches gave me confidence to try out new sports as I got older!
I hope that our young people, and their parents, joining On the Ball and Fun in the Sun find the friendships and supportive social groups that come through positive sporting experiences developing confidence and resilience.

Claire Cammack – Action-attainment Community Coordinator
I’m a mother of two and have a background working within gyms. I attended a parent workshop and some activities and was amazed by the uniqueness of Action-attainment and their approach to coaching and supporting neurodiverse children. Now I am developing the girl’s community and activities in the Act-attain team.
I am passionate about helping all children get active and believe with the right support and guidance anything is possible.

Girls Connect Background

Our Girls Connect support group is for parent and carers of autistic girls / young adults or those on the social communication pathway (of all ages). We very much welcome autistic young women too.

We have a private, members only Facebook group where people share ideas and you can post any queries / ideas. We also have a group of 230+ members in the southwest London area, although this is now growing well beyond that, with members from across the country too. It goes across all age ranges and it’s a really helpful forum to share lived experiences.

We have free online events with specialist guest speakers that take place every 6 - 8 weeks. Our events are advertised in the Skylarks email newsletter, Facebook and on the website too.

Our aim is to create an inclusive and welcoming community and network of support for all our members.

If you are interested in joining the group, you can search for the group, Southwest London Girls Connect on Facebook and request admittance or email swlondongirlsconnect@gmail.com
