RISE and Skylarks multi sports session
Wednesday 9th August 2023
We are pleased to be able to offer a multi-sports sessions in the holidays in partnership with RISE (Richmond Inclusive Sports and Exercise).
These are for children aged 12+ with any additional needs or disabilities. Priority will be given to children with disabilities but there may be space for siblings too. Please express an interest for brothers and sisters and we will let you know nearer the time if they can join in.
1pm - 2.30pm
These sessions offer a fun introduction to the basics of a variety of sports, including basketball, cricket, hockey and tennis, all adapted to suit every ability. Sessions are led by a Disability Sports Coach (DSC) and develop fundamental movement skills; running, hopping, throwing, catching and jumping.
These are run by sports staff employed by RISE. There will be a member of Skylarks staff present. They will be there to help and supervise. Parents are however responsible for their children at all times and are expected to stay nearby.
These sessions will take place on the hard court areas outside.
The sessions will take place in most weathers, unless it is very heavy rain. Please make sure your children are appropriately dressed for all weathers. Please bring sun cream or raincoat, depending on the weather. There is no inside space or cover apart from some trees.
You are welcome to bring a rug or a fold-up chair for your own use or a coffee to drink. A picnic or other food. No nuts or sesame as usual please.
