Run by
Fiona Morgan from Skylarks
Tuesday Stay & Play Session
The session runs from 2.30pm - 5pm
Our Tuesday afternoon play session is one of our main offerings at Skylarks. Bring your children to play while you have a cup of tea/coffee and chat with our staff, volunteers and other parents. We have lots of other activities going on at the Crossway Centre, such as our sensory room, drama class, music therapy sessions, karate class, osteopathy appointments, hairdressing, story time and sometimes cookery. Some of our activities and appointments book up very quickly, but cancellations often happen and we will always offer a space to those on our waiting lists. If you are at our play session and a cancellation happens at the last minute, we may be able to offer you a space in an activity. Please express an interest when you sign in at our front desk.
What do sessions at the Crossway Centre look like?
The play sessions take place between 2.30pm & 5pm on Tuesdays and on some Fridays from 10am to 12 midday.
All staff will also wear purple Skylarks T-shirts / fleeces, so that you can recognise us! Our volunteers wear orange T-shirts.
What do I need to do before I come?
- Please read our guidelines carefully - https://www.skylarks.charity/page/member-guidelines
- Please book online. Families must book in advance as numbers are limited, so you must book to use the playroom and for any activities you want to take part in. You need to book EACH child in, so that we know numbers to expect.
What will happen when I arrive at the Crossway Centre?
A staff member or volunteer can make you a cup of tea or coffee. Please keep all hot drinks out of the reach of children.
You may bring your own snacks to each OUTSIDE of the play room, but please do not share them and please do not bring anything containing nuts or sesame. Please do not leave water bottles where they might be used by others. Please supervise your children when eating to make sure they don’t leave food lying around and please clean up any spillages or leftovers.
If your child has a toileting accident, we ask you to clean up. We will provide gloves and cleaning materials. Please have a spare set of clothes with you.
Donations can be made by contactless card reader at our front desk. We prefer not to accept cash - thank you.
Buggies and prams can be left under the stairs where they will not obstruct exits or access to the lift.
You are responsible for your children on-site. Please read our safety notices and members guidelines.
Thank you for making Skylarks a safe and welcoming place for everyone
